2nd May 2022- United States- Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are Returns in American Idol: Paula Abdul is back! The 59-year-old star returned to her home on the American Idol stage on Monday night for an episode that was a special reunion and was teary-eyed as she reflected on her experience in the competition (she was judged from the show’s beginning between 2002 and 2009).  Paula Abdul

“I’m extremely proud and satisfied with the experience that will last a lifetime,” she told host Ryan Seacrest after when he asked her what it was like to return. “I’m crying at the sight of all the contestants that are just like my children. 

It’s gorgeous,” she said as she looked at the past contestants such as Ruben StuddardJordin Sparks, and many more who returned on the special episode.

“Cold Hearted,” the “Cold Hearted” singer returned to her spot together with another judge from the past, Randy Jackson. Paula was judged in seasons 1-8 and Randy was present for seasons one through twelve. The other judge, Simon Cowell did not attend the special.

Paula was seated right next to Katy Perry, who is an active Judge on the TV show as well as Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.

The special reunion concert comes following the fact that the season 20 Idol contestants were honored at Disney Night! The evening began with the ladies from season 20 singing “We Don’t Talk about Bruno” with Adassa from Encanto

The other members of the Encanto singer Rhenzy Feliz and the boys from Idol perform with them in the second part of the performance. Derek Hough is acting as the top 10’s coach for Disney Night.

It then narrowed the contestants down from the Top 10 performers to the top seven. With more than 20 million people casting votes, the biggest artist to make it into the Top 7 was LeahMarlene. 

Jay Copeland, Noah Thompson, Fritz Hager, HunterGirl as well as Nicolina are the next singers to be announced. The last spot was awarded to Christian Guardino!

“The “American Idol” originals will be back!

In celebration of the event’s 20th anniversary, there are a lot of contestants, top-of-the-line winners, and judges who will step back on stage this week.

You can expect appearances by Ruben Studdard Scotty McCreery, Jordin sparks David Cook, Lauren Alaina, Kris Allen, Maddie Poppe, Laine Hardy, Willie Spence, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Grace Kinstler, Laci Kaye Booth, and other surprise guests. 

Plus, the original judge Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul will be at the scenes once again!

The event is being dubbed “The Great Idol Reunion,” and is scheduled to be broadcast on May 2 on ABC.

Season two winner Studdard will perform with the sixth-season winner Sparks according to an earlier Deadline report. Second-placed Alaina (Season 10-10)) will be singing alongside the winner of that season, McCreery.

7th-season winner Cook will sing with season 8’s winner Allen the Season 17 champion Hardy and the Top 5 finalist from the same season Booth are a group along with Season 16’s winning Poppe will be singing alongside the season’s runner-up Hutchinson. Contestants from Season 19 Spence and Kinstler are also set to join forces.

“American Idol” first aired on Fox between 2002 and 2016, spawning winners such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood and finalists like Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert. ABC renewed the show in the year 2018.

Director of production Megan Michaels Wolflick told Deadline, “It’s a testament to the show’s remarkable legacy that we’re able to mark the 20th anniversary of “American Idol’ in this unique manner. 

We’re thrilled to be able to welcome back the most loved former contestants from the past to perform on the stage of “Idol. “American Idol” continues to produce superstars, as it has since 2002. Reuniting these icons of the show is the ideal way to celebrate the next generation.”
